By browsing fashion catalogues and fashion designers’ collections straight from the catwalks of Paris or Milan, you can distinguish between several dominant trends for the upcoming fall-winter season 24/25. The order of the described fashion points is random.

  1. Top colours:
  • Intense Rust – A warm and rich shade, Intense Rust is a colour close to earthy shades, full of warmth and calm tones. It expresses authenticity, quiet luxury and promotes a return to classic design.
  • Midnight Plum – Midnight Plum is a strong dark purple, drawing heavily on cosmic inspirations. It’s mysterious, yet enticingly dark. It allows you to break away from everyday life and is an expression of the growing need for escapism among fashion users.
  • Sustained Gray – A neutral and timeless colour. It encourages you to maintain balance and focus. It symbolizes practicality and reliability.
  • Cool matcha – Cool Matcha is a calm, subdued colour, soothing and emphasizing the connection between man and nature. It combines plant green and mind-calming pastel.
  • Apricot crush – The undisputed colour hit of 2024.
  1. Prints:
  • Total bloom – Flowers large and small, meadows and blurry flower shapes, flora from head to toe. Mainly on a dark background. All-over patterns. There are also simplified drawings of flowers that look as if drawn in ink.
  • Checks – The checkered total look is one of the most common curls proposed for autumn-winter. Large grids are preferred, and contrasts are avoided. Tartan and tone-on-tone checks are coming back into trend.
  • Abstraction – Spontaneous brush strokes, blurs and scribbles, tiny dots and minimalist patterns. Space in macro and micro terms.
  • Graphics – Irregular lines, chevron, and zigzag lines, prints straight from the 1970s. Oval spots spherically overlapping each other.
  • Ornaments – Pixel patterns, paisleys and arabesques, Norwegian-style design, modern runes.

  1. Leather – There will be a real craze for everything made of artificial leather. Garments such as leather jackets, skirts, dresses, tops, trousers, and coats. Patent leather is welcome too. All zippers, stitching, pockets, drapes, and fancy buttons will perfectly complement the leather look. It won’t hurt to have a snake or other reptilian print on your skin.

  1. Chanel with metallic thread – Once again we will appreciate the undeniable charm of classic fabrics inspired by Chanel style. A highly recommended diversification of a well-known material would be metallic thread or silver loose gold foil, creating stylish abrasions.

  1. Fur – Faux fur, loved by many of us, will clearly triumph in the upcoming autumn and winter season. Fur coats with long piles, printed with animal spots and unusual colours, e.g. in a shade of lilac pink or stone beige. There is a lot of emphasis on the Alpaca.

  1. Velour – A knitwear that defends itself every season, but this time there is some variety in the velour trend. Designers focus on fanciful modifications, e.g. all kinds of draping and creases, jacquards, and silk shine.

  1. Gloss – A material with a satin property, has a glass shine, mainly with gold, but also works with silver. The so-called “plastic look” – in quilted jackets, patent leather or waterproof nylon fabrics. Even fur should have metallic threads woven into its hair. Sequins and studs are a definite YES!

  1. Transparency – A lace or guipure look with a floral pattern will be a huge hit. Long, tight dresses made of white lace are a must-have! Nets, burnt mesh, chiffon sprinkled with gold and 3D floral applications on transparent material should be popular.

  1. Forms – The very mini and bodycon form dresses and skirts is popular, but designers such as Prada, Balmain and Ferragamo do not shy away from voluminous maxi skirts with circles. Baggy pants or cigarette pants with short legs will also be in fashion. Bootleg pants must have a high waist and extremely long legs. Showing navels in evening dresses – cropped tops and cutouts will continue to be very popular. In jackets, it is worth emphasizing the shoulders, oversize cut and subdued colours. Trench coats will have large lapels, will be fastened to the neck, and should have elements that can be unfastened.

  1. Continuation of the DENIM trend – Denim will still be one of the leading materials for the fall-winter 24/25 season, but it should look a bit worn and torn. Ripped, bleached, and stylized as worn. It’s great if it is combined with fur or other material that contrasts with the texture and colour of denim. The real hit are denim “suits” – trousers + jacket.

We took a look at fashion forecasts for the upcoming fall-winter season 24/25. It is also worth mentioning the accessories that complement the styling, which we should remember, such as, large bows (especially around the neck), lacing, applications that look like they are made of plastic or shiny jewellery elements (e.g. chains, brooches), etc.

Designers realize that to convey one overarching principle that guides winter trends – we should feel cozy, safe and self-confident. And a bit of sparkle never hurt anyone.
